My name is Bianca Sloane and I am an artist based in Galway City. I create bright vivid large-scale paintings with a mixture of media including acrylic paint, spray paint, collage, charcoal, oil pastels and markers. Using a variety of media gives me the opportunity to use textures and gradients to create interesting visual play. My practice involves social critique on topics that are pertinent to our society and current events. I work quickly to capture the emotions I feel during the process. Using bright colours and engaging visual play, my ambition is to draw viewers’ attention to issues that face my generation such as identity, politics, society and culture. I want to give the viewer an opportunity to think about the topics. I enjoy using satire in my work which makes it more approachable for the viewer. My main goal is to create original artwork that is visually unique and that brings joy to the viewers and me.
