My name is Lee Kinnucane, I’m a fourth year student inspired by the Avante Garde movements such as Dadaism and Constructivism, hoping to become an freelance graphic designer or Illustrator after my Graduation.
Cú Liath is a project that aims to raise awareness around the Irish Greyhound industry, its history but primarily looking into the self-fulfilling downward spiral the industry has been in the last couple years, it’s inability to adapt well to the modern world and the devastating results its had on the welfare of the greyhounds. The magazine aims to enlighten the readers on the practices of the industry official and otherwise, and the people tirelessly cleaning up in the wake of this ‘industry’
My other project is part of my Entrepreneurship and Professional practice module where we were set the task of applying our skills to either professionally present our portfolio or participate in or use a brief from a online student design competition to add a meaningful project to our portfolios. I chose the latter and created a magazine cover for the Penguin Book: Student design award.
