My name is Jade Dwyer and my final year graphic design project focuses on the legalisation of recreational cannabis in Ireland. Cannabis is currently illegal and criminalised in Ireland and my project consists of a study of the social benefits that can be achieved with legalisation, based off research of Canada and some American states. I have developed a brand, Cannabas, which is Ireland’s first legal cannabis dispensary. I have utilised my graphic design skills to design a working prototype of a website for the brand and packaging for some Cannabas products.
Isabel Greene

My final project is an illustrated card game based on the Irish mythological story of the Bull of Cooley. The aim of my project is to reconnect Irish children with Ireland’s mythology in order to engage children and carry on oral tradition for the next generation.
The project has a strong focus on illustration and subtle inclusion of Irish symbols. More info can be found on the project website below.

Ciarra Noonan
As a young woman in agriculture, I wanted to create a project embracing change for both my generation and future generations of farmers, through providing the information to make a change. I also looked at reaching farmers, unconnected to the internet, as most of the information regarding new practices is only provided online.
Methane is an odourless, colourless gas, this gas is produced by livestock, and is a byproduct produced when the cattle convert grass into sources of dairy and meat for human consumption. This gas is the second most important greenhouse gas and its contribution to global warming is about twenty-eight times more than carbon dioxide. Once methane is produced it can linger in the atmosphere for up to twelve years.
Reducing the volume of methane produced from ruminant livestock will be required for Ireland to adhere to both EU 2030 emissions reduction targets and national ambitions to be carbon neutral by 2050. This project will provide information regarding the initial steps that can be taken to reduce these emissions.
Ciara Broujos
My name is Ciara Broujos and throughout my time as a student and working professional I have suffered the ill effects of ‘burnout’. Burnout is a state of emotional, physical, and mental exhaustion caused by excessive and prolonged stress often from working long hours without taking breaks. It occurs when you feel overwhelmed, emotionally drained, and unable to meet constant demands. On researching further into the topic of burnout, I found that it is a major problem in today’s society amongst employees all over the globe and can greatly affect their mental and physical health. This project aims to incorporate a work-rest system into the daily routines of working professionals by encouraging them to participate in short mental and physical exercises in order to preserve their health. In doing so it helps the employee in feeling less tired and more productive. Not only does this project benefit the average employee by giving their brains frequent rest periods but it also benefits their employers by improving the employee’s overall work performance.
Caitilín O’Toole
This project is about introducing the Irish youth to forestry. Getting them to explore the environment around them and have an interest in the nature that surrounds them. Today’s youth are captivated by what happens on a screen. Their disinterest in Ireland’s forests makes it impossible for them to be educated on the importance of it. The purpose of Forest Explorer is to spark an interest in Irish forestry and be educated in a new exciting way. Making screens the solution.
